ORCHID CARE & HANDLING

Francais

Light:
Cymbidiums do best with at least 4 hours of direct sunlight a day, but should be protected from hot mid-day and early afternoon sun.

Temperature:
Cymbidiums do best with a day temperature of 15-20 degrees C, and night temperature of 10-17 degrees C, from late fall to early spring. A cool room, such as a porch, is ideal.

Watering:
Keep Cymbidiums plants moist when plants are growing, water less in winter. Plants may require watering every other day in summer, but as little as once every week or two, in winter.

Fertilizer:
Cymbidiums require fertilitzer every third watering with a liquid full feed fertilizer at half strength of labelled recommendation.

To Rebloom:
Cymbidiums require warm, sunny days (20-30 degrees C) with cool nights (10-15 degrees C) to set flower buds. This can be accomplished by placing plants outside during the frost-free growing season. Ensure Cymbidiums are shaded from the mid-day sun. Bring inside before the first frost. Plants will normally flower in winter or early spring.
